Course Purpose: Whether you love the Bible or hate it, this class is for you. The Judeo-Christian Bible can be read as history, as propaganda, as metaphor, or as moral instruction.

In our 8 weeks together you will have an opportunity to:

1. study passages in the Bible that the founders of New Thought focused on to create our philosophy
2. reinterpret famous Bible Stories in a way that is personal and useful
3. heal your relationship to the Bible, Christianity, and Judaism
4. learn about the history of how this library of 66 books got put together
5. learn about how the Bible has influenced American culture and language
6. fall in love with passages of beautiful and inspiring literature

Cost: $200 (cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express), work/study available

Schedule: Eight 3-hour modules, Mondays 6:30-9:30 pm, July 8 – August 26

Location: Amazing Grace Spiritual Center

Requirements: Prerequisite: successful completion of Beyond Limits, Foundations, or SOM 101-102; Active, regular participation
Homework: weekly reading and written assignments
Textbooks: What is the Bible? by Rob Bell You’ll be reading the entire book for week 2
The NIV/KJV Parallel Bible by Zondervan, Charles F. Stanley, and Andy Stanley

Status of course: Certificated class developed by Centers for Spiritual Living
Satisfies one of six class requirements for Practitioner studies
